Community Support System
Ohio MENTOR’s contribution to the development and implementation of a community support system is represented by a holistic array of accessible services, aimed at meeting the needs of individuals and families in the community.
Our staff is committed to working closely with referral sources, family members and professionals from a wide variety of human service organizations. This allows us to focus on the successful return of children to their families, adopted families or placement in independent living settings in the community. Staff members attend hearings and meetings in the juvenile justice system, as well as county human services and hospital settings to coordinate such services across the various community systems.
Ohio MENTOR provides a critical link within the system of care for children and youth within various counties throughout the state of Ohio. Through community-based services, individuals, who would otherwise require more restrictive environments, are able to live in less restrictive settings. Ohio MENTOR maintains the values of the Family and Children First Council and contributes to the achievement of the mental health community plan.
