Services in
Your Community
We have programs throughout the state that help children and their families build increasingly rich, independent lives in the communities they call home.
In-Home Support
Ohio MENTOR’s In-Home Support services are designed for children with behavioral health challenges, such as substance abuse, behavior problems or trauma. Services and supports are provided right in the family’s home to help the whole family—the child, parents and other caregivers, siblings and foster parents, for children in foster care—map a positive new course for their own lives.
The program is designed to prevent a child from being placed in foster care. It can also help a child that has been placed out of the home make a smooth transition back home.
A Team Approach to Care
Each family in our In-Home program has an individualize service plan delivered by our experienced staff who:
- Help the family work through any crisis in a positive way.
- Identify the family’s natural strengths and abilities and supports in the community that can help them move forward.
- Help the family develop and master new strengths and abilities to support them along their life journey.
- Help the family build social skills and strengthen relationships between parents and children, between siblings, and between the child and teachers.
The team will also work with the child and family on a plan to transition out of service. At each stage of the journey, the team will help the family celebrate the success they have achieved. Whatever behavioral health challenge, whether it is anxiety, depression, substance abuse or problems in school, we believe each family we serve possesses the natural strengths and abilities it needs to overcome it—and we’re here to support them each step of the way.
