History & Vision
The MENTOR Network’s roots date back to 1980 when the organization, as Massachusetts MENTOR, received its first contract to provide therapeutic foster care to children and adolescents. Since our beginning, we have evolved from a single, residential program provider. One that serves innovative services to adults and children with developmental disabilities to children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral and medically complex challenges.
Along the way we have helped to define a new vision for human services delivery—one that offers the choice and trust found in local relationships combined with the strength and stability of a national organization.
Ohio MENTOR has been providing therapeutic foster care to the state of Ohio since 1983. Our agency consists of dedicated people who open up their hearts and homes, to provide safe caring environments for the children and youth we serve. Our employees are respectful and professional with clinical staff that have received professional certifications from well established universities. Those certifications are LSW (Licensed Social Worker), LISW (Licensed Independent Social Worker), PCC (Professional Clinical Counselor), Master’s Degree, RN (Registered Nurse) and a Psychologist.
Since opening our doors, we have made many strides to offer communities of Ohio more diverse services. In 2003, Ohio MENTOR earned its certification to provide a variety of mental health services, including group therapy, individual community support, individual counseling and psychiatric counseling.
