Foster Parenting
Have you ever wanted the chance to positively change the life of a child or teen? As a Treatment Foster Parent, you have that chance!
There is perhaps no career as rewarding as one that helps children or people in need. As a foster parent, you become a teacher and a caregiver to a child who needs you, needs your home and needs your heart.
As a part of the child's treatment team, you play a pivotal role in helping a child achieve his or her treatment goals. Foster Parents are specially trained regarding the issues and needs of children placed in foster care.
Your preparation to becoming a certified treatment foster home begins with 36 hours of pre-service training which is scheduled on evenings and weekends. Our licensing staff will conduct a homestudy which includes criminal records checks and interviews with all members of your household. Additionally you will be required to get a medical statement from your physician, a TB test, and fire inspection of your home. Upon becoming certified as a Treatment Foster Parent, you will be reimbursed for your pre-service training at a stipend of $360.00.
